New Pokemon HOME Update: Enhanced Game Compatibility
Bellevue, WA—May 12, 2022—Exciting news for Pokemon trainers! The Pokemon Company International and Nintendo have unveiled the latest version of Pokemon HOME: version 2.0.0. This exciting update brings enhanced game compatibility, allowing players to link their Pokemon Legends: Arceus, Pokemon Brilliant Diamond, and Pokemon Shining Pearl games to the Pokemon HOME cloud service app. Joining the already compatible games Pokemon Sword, Pokemon Shield, Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu!, Pokemon: Let’s Go, Eevee!, and Pokemon GO, this expanded compatibility opens up even more possibilities for trainers. The update is expected to roll out in the coming weeks, so trainers can anticipate unlocking new features soon.
Unlocking Pokemon Adventures Across Games
Pokemon HOME serves as an invaluable tool for trainers, enabling them to extend their Pokemon adventures beyond a single game system and efficiently manage their diverse collection of Pokemon across multiple games. However, it’s important to note that each game has its own limitations when it comes to transferring Pokemon. To determine which Pokemon can be taken to specific games, trainers can refer to the Help menu of the mobile device version of Pokemon HOME for detailed information.
Introducing Strange Balls
In the upcoming Pokemon Legends: Arceus game, players will be transported to the distant past of the Pokemon world. During this period, Poké Balls seen in other games have not yet been created. As a result, when Pokemon caught in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond, Pokemon Shining Pearl, Pokemon Sword, or Pokemon Shield are transferred to Pokemon Legends: Arceus, they will appear in Strange Balls. These unique balls will only be visible in Pokemon Legends: Arceus, Pokemon Brilliant Diamond, and Pokemon Shining Pearl. However, when Pokemon caught in Pokemon Legends: Arceus are transferred to Pokemon Sword or Pokemon Shield, they will revert to regular Poké Balls.
Moreover, Pokemon HOME provides trainers with the ability to view the Poké Balls in which their captured Pokemon were originally caught, adding an extra layer of nostalgia and personalization to their collection.
Claim Special Pokemon with Game Linking
To celebrate the integration of Pokemon Brilliant Diamond, Pokemon Shining Pearl, and Pokemon Legends: Arceus with Pokemon HOME, trainers will be rewarded with special Pokemon when they link each game to Pokemon HOME.

By depositing a Pokemon from Pokemon Legends: Arceus into the Nintendo Switch version of Pokemon HOME, players will receive Mystery Gifts in the mobile device version of Pokemon HOME. These Mystery Gifts include Rowlet, Cyndaquil, and Oshawott, each with maximum effort levels. It’s an incredible opportunity to enhance your Pokemon roster before diving into your Pokemon Legends: Arceus adventure.
Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Pokemon Shining Pearl Connectivity
